If you have been discharged from active military service, you may be eligible for health care benefits. There are many different programs administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
If you are eligible for both Medicare and Veterans Benefits, you must choose where you will receive services. Medicare will not pay for services received in a Veterans Affairs (VA) facility and the VA will generally not pay for services received outside a VA facility.
VA may pay as primary to Medicare if the VA authorizes a service outside of the VA facility. For more information on Veterans Benefits, call 1-800-827-1000 or visit eBenefits.gov.
