Breast cancer strikes one in eight American women, and its risk to women increases as they age. Periodic screening mammography has been shown to save lives by detecting breast cancer in its earliest stages, when it is most treatable. However, its use is underutilized in Missouri. Primaris aims to reduce the incidence of late-stage breast cancer among female Medicare beneficiaries by providing proven-effective tools and resources for Missouri health care professionals. These materials, available at no charge to Missouri clinicians, improve the utilization of mammography by facilitating physician office systems changes.
