Robert E. King, DO, Ozark

Private Medical Practice, Springfield, MO

Dr. King graduated with a bachelor degree from Northwestern University with majors in biology and chemistry, and minors in mathematics and physics. He worked full-time at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF), where he did collaborative research in chronic myelogenous leukemia and cervical cancer, looking for genetic markers.

While working for OMRF, Dr. King was a student at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center (OKC), where he graduated with a masters degree in human biochemistry in 1974. Dr. King graduated from the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Tulsa in 1981.

He practices at the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri, where he is the Clinical Director. As Clinical Director, Dr King oversees a staff of 8 ancillary personnel, 10 physicians and 12 MidLevel Practitioners who render care to 1,500 inmates. Dr. King is ultimately responsible for making sure inmates receive the most efficent, appropriate quality care available in a government managed health care system.

He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and the Ozark District Osteopathic Society.
