Who needs a flu and pneumonia shot?
You need a flu shot if you are you over 50 and older
You need a flu and pneumonia shot if you are 65 and older
You need a flu and pneumonia shot if you have a long-term health problem
Diabetes

You need a flu shot every year-anytime between October and December.
Most people need a pneumonia shot once in a lifetime. You can get a pneumonia shot anytime but a good time is when you are getting your flu shot. Just ask your doctor.
Flu and pneumonia shots are covered under Medicare Part B and under Medicare HMO plans. Always bring your insurance cards with you.
What are the signs and symptoms of the flu and pneumonia?
Flu - Fever, chills, cough, headaches, sore throat, muscle aches
Pneumonia - Severe chills, high fever, cough, stabbing chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath
